NYC Food + Drink Guide to Lower Manhattan | jewels.

Living in NYC (despite our little London venture for the time being), I get endless emails from friends and family asking for NYC restaurant and bar suggestions. I love the emails, after all NYC has somewhat of a stronghold on my heart, but they also overwhelm me because it is not possible to sum up 3 years worth of experiences in NYC into one simple email.

By the way, all of the places listed below I have personally visited and experienced myself! Stan can attest to the fact that I have a very high standard when it comes to dining out, so I can promise they are all visit worthy.?With out further ado, this is our collaborative attempt (thank you Stan for your input) to tackle a NYC Food + Drink Guide to Lower Manhattan:

Macao Trading Co.?- The perfect intersection of Old World China and New World Flavors (beware the bill can escalate quickly)?

Prune?- High-end, unpretentious home cooking

*Saxon + Parole?- Explore the rolling bar cart and try all of their mini ?Pots?

Stanton Social?- Great drinks & lively atmosphere with yummy brunch spot too

Super Linda?- Brussel sprouts?order them!

*The Dutch?- I swoon over the interiors, and make at least 3 trips to the bathrooms (ahhh, the brass fixtures)

The Mermaid Inn?- Try to shishoto peppers

Babbo?- For the hungry, try the Pasta Tasting Menu

Buvette?- Small plates & super cozy

Cafe Cluny?- A bit on the lively side of romantic

*Commerce?- I am not a dessert gal, but the coconut cake for dessert is a must!

Mr. Chow?- The cuisine lives up to the fame

One if By Land, Two if By Sea?- Feels like NYC in 1776

Peasant?- Simple. Warm. Cozy.

The Little Owl?- Cozy romance in a teeny-tiny West Village eatery (good luck getting a reservation!)

*The Harrison?- Seasonal Menu. Our go to date spot b/c?reservations?are usually free with a few days notice

*Brandy Library?- Old School and cozy. Love taking my parents here

Death & Co.?-?East Village hot spot

Milk & Honey?- Stellar! The mixologist knows whats up

Pravda?-?Specializes?in Vodka?cocktails; feels?like?you?ve been transported to the heart of Mother Russia?

*Smith & Mills?-?Top of my list! (P.S. They have a small menu, but tasty menu)?

Silver Lining?- ?Jazz in one of the most beautiful buildings in Tribeca on Murray Street

Terroir Tribeca?- Extensive wine list served in an unpretentious wine bar, the food is worth exploring too

The Back Room?-?Think prohibition style cocktails served in?demitasse cups & beer serve brown bags

The Bourgeois Pig?-?Tucked away on an unassuming street in the East Village with great wine-based cocktails

The Bar at the NoMad?-?Great for after work drinks, but beware the cocktails are a bit strong

Ward III?-?Sazarac!

*Weather Up?- Again, love the interior. The subway tile and dark walls are perfection in my book.?

Frying Pan ? To start it?s on a barge in the water

Hideaway?- Go to simple, no fuss Tribeca Bar

McSorley?s?- For the indecisive, they only?serve?two types of beer?dark & light.?

St. Dymphna?s?-?The perfect?neighborhood?pub

The Dead Rabbit?-?A great new addition to the Financial District, the punch is toxic

*The Rusty Knot?- Feels like your single uncle?s beach house, be sure to order the ?Rusty Knot? Mojito served with a mini mermaid & a pretzel dog
