Britain should follow Germany and increase state funding for the arts in the face of austerity, the concert violinist Nicola Benedetti has told The Times.
Ms Benedetti, 25, also said the public?s appetite for difficult works of art and music had been consistently underestimated, and classical music did not have to be dumbed down in search of wider appeal.
